Job Description

Content Creator Intern producing and publishing podcasts for Our National Conversation, a youth-driven nonpartisan media nonprofit. Creating thumbnails, reels, titles, and descriptions to grow audience engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete deliverables marked on the content calendar and suggest ideas for approval
  • Produce podcast episodes, including writing, recording, and editing content
  • Send finalized content to the podcast team lead in a timely manner
  • Create engaging titles and thumbnails for podcast episodes
  • Edit short-form reels from podcast episodes for social media
  • Write short, engaging descriptions for Spotify and YouTube uploads
  • Understand key audiences for different ONC podcast segments and develop targeting strategies to drive video engagement
  • Apply social media and marketing knowledge to suggest ways to improve podcast reach and engagement
  • Communicate with ONC team members through Slack, email, and Zoom
  • Record, edit, research, outline, and publish podcast episodes

Requirements:

  • Current student working towards a degree in Communications, Video & Graphic Arts, Film/Video Production, Script Writing or related fields; and/or passionate about Film Studies, Video Production, and/or Communication
  • Familiar with podcast styles and trends
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and basic marketing principles
  • Ability to write concise, engaging titles and descriptions
  • Basic technical skills for creating thumbnails, editing reels, and preparing content for upload
  • Understanding of basic file management
  • Knowledge of Sound Editing required
  • Knowledge of Video Editing preferred
  • Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator
  • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
  • Google Workspace experience preferred
  • Ability to attend the Organization-Wide meetings every other week
  • Ability to attend the weekly Podcast team meetings
  • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
