Job Description
FinTech academic content developer designing production-grade payment-system coursework for Jala University. Creating a 10-week ledger and transaction API lab for senior engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Design Course 1 end to end for Jala University's FinTech Engineering Specialization
- Develop production-grade course content for senior software engineers
- Cover the card payment ecosystem, regional instant payment rails, ledger architecture, and regulatory compliance by design
- Design labs, examples, and exercises in Go and TypeScript/Node.js
- Create a 10-week incremental lab in which students build a multi-tenant core ledger and transaction API
- Guide development of an event-sourced, double-entry ledger backend with a secure REST/JSON API, strict idempotency, BaaS data partitioning, and concurrency controls
- Define clear rubrics for each project milestone
- Produce public-quality technical explanations, documentation, and contextual regulatory notes for Latin American markets
Requirements:
- Mandatory direct professional experience at a payments fintech operating in Latin America (Clip, dLocal, Kushki, Ebanx, Stone, Conekta or equivalent)
- 5+ years software engineering experience
- 3+ years in FinTech/payments
- Public writing samples showing technical explanation, including ability to write to publication standard
- Reproducibility discipline: pinned dependencies, containers, seeded runs, and documented decoding parameters
- Able to write examples, labs and exercises in both Go and TypeScript/Node.js
- Production mindset: designing systems engineers build in real-world environments
- Experience with card transaction flows, including ISO 8583 authorization, capture, reversal, settlement, issuer-to-merchant actor chains, BIN routing, acquiring models, interchange, and familiarity with ISO 20022
- Hands-on integration with at least one of PIX, SPEI, or Transferencias 3.0, including QR payloads, interoperability, and settlement flows
- Expertise in multi-tenant, event-sourced, double-entry ledgers; isolation levels, locking, idempotency, transaction state machines, and preventing double-spending under high concurrency
- Understanding of Latin American clearing and settlement networks such as SLC, CERC, Prosa, ACH, and Coelsa, plus BaaS/Ledger-as-a-Service integration
- Working knowledge of at least one Latin American regulatory framework: BACEN, CNBV, BCRA, or SFC; settlement finality, non-repudiation, and audit trails as engineering constraints
- Conceptual familiarity with stablecoin settlement for cross-border payments (nice to have)
- Experience writing technical documentation such as RFCs, ADRs, and OpenAPI specifications (nice to have)
- Spanish to produce contextual regulatory notes for specific Latin American markets (nice to have)
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (nice to have)
