Job Description
Contract IT Systems Administrator securing QNAP and Dropbox media storage for a faith-focused organization. Managing backups, remote access, documentation, and ongoing infrastructure support.
Responsibilities:
- Own the reliability of the existing 10-bay QNAP NAS and its connection to Dropbox Business
- Keep the QNAP NAS healthy and storage configured correctly
- Establish workflows for moving active projects into Dropbox and returning completed work to the NAS
- Provide approved team members with secure remote access to archived files
- Review permissions and administrator access
- Create an independent second backup for irreplaceable footage and verify file restoration
- Document the setup, recovery process, and account ownership
- Provide ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting after the initial cleanup
- Review the current NAS, Dropbox, and network setup and provide a written summary of required fixes during the first month
- Complete approved work and demonstrate file transfers between the NAS and Dropbox and remote access when needed
- Document the finished setup, agree on a separate backup plan, and test a file restore
Requirements:
- Experience building and maintaining business network systems
- Experience building storage systems that work with cloud platforms, including NAS devices and services such as Dropbox
- Must provide an hourly rate and include the currency
- Must submit a Loom video of up to 3 minutes explaining fit and ongoing availability
- Must provide proof of relevant work, such as one or two examples of network or storage systems built or maintained
- Ability to coordinate with someone on-site when physical access is needed
- Availability for ongoing work
- Ability to communicate reliably and document work
- Must be comfortable with project-based independent contractor work rather than only retainer-based work
