Job Description
Contracts counsel advising Zillow, a leading U.S. real estate platform, on commercial contracts, product counseling, and regulatory compliance. Negotiating agreements and guiding cross-functional business teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and support for assigned products, programs, or business lines
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, terms, and related documentation, including vendor MSAs, SaaS and software agreements, professional services, benefits, and recruiting agreements
- Interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, industry rules, and data-use requirements to product features, workflows, and business processes
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, procurement, sourcing, finance, information security, privacy, and people teams
- Investigate, assess, and help resolve legal issues, complaints, and escalations
- Develop and maintain guidance, playbooks, templates, and knowledge resources
- Educate and train business partners on legal requirements, risks, and standard processes
- Partner with senior attorneys on strategic initiatives, cross-functional projects, and emerging issues
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, in good standing
- 4–6 years of experience practicing law
- Experience supporting technology, media, financial services, or real estate-related clients preferred
- Experience advising on regulatory, commercial, or product counseling matters
- Experience interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, or industry standards to business activities
- Ability to manage a moderate portfolio of matters or workstreams with limited supervision
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
