Job Description
Controller/Buchhalter für The Base, einen Anbieter einzigartiger Co-Living-Wohnräume. Verantwortlich für Buchhaltung, HGB-Abschlüsse, Reporting, Forecasts und Controlling.
Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing financial accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting
- Review, code, and post incoming and outgoing invoices down to the document level
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and settlements between entities
- Administer payment transactions
- Actively support the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Maintain and implement monthly reporting, including commentary on management accounts (BWA)
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and derive appropriate business measures
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, reports, and liquidity overviews for internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
- Work across multiple entities, handling approximately 150,000 transactions per year
Requirements:
- Extensive professional experience in accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting—ideally in a multi-entity environment or a role with broad independent responsibility
- Experience with detailed invoice review and coding
- Strong understanding of financial statements prepared in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
- Experience supporting the preparation of annual financial statements is preferred
- Controlling expertise: deriving KPIs, forecasts, and business measures from financial data
- Proficiency in DATEV is required
- Advanced Excel skills
- Quick to grasp new concepts
- High degree of independence
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, with professional-level proficiency
- Initial experience with BI tools and building reporting structures from scratch is a plus
- Background in hospitality, real estate, or a multi-entity setup is a plus
- Interest in automation and process optimization, including API integrations and automated posting, is a plus
