Job Description
Controller managing daily accounting operations while providing financial insight for multiple clients. Focused on accuracy and client satisfaction in a remote environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of escalation for day-to-day client inquiries and accounting issues
- Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting that helps clients understand performance and key metrics
- Identify accounting or process challenges, recommend data-driven solutions, and communicate changes clearly
- Support Staff Accountants in daily operations and professional development through guidance and feedback
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to maintain client satisfaction and ensure engagement scope alignment
- Execute and oversee core accounting functions including month-end revenue entries and reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and variance analysis
- Maintain organized, accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in client-service or outsourced accounting environments
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and month-end close processes
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and related applications (e.g., BiLL, Gusto, Shopify, Rippling, & Xenett)
- Excellent communication skills and client service orientation
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a remote environment
- High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
