Job Description
Credit Policy Analyst contributing to development and administration of credit policies at CrossCountry Mortgage. Responsible for communication of agency and investor guidelines, updates, and interpretation.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other departments within Operations, Secondary Marketing and Servicing
- Assist with the clear and consistent communication of agency and investor guidelines, updates, and interpretation
- Provide draft communications of agency and investor updates, clarifications, and changes for distribution
- Research and analyze data provided by various Agencies and Investors to help management determine the application of various policies and procedures
- Provide feedback summaries regarding announcements, bulletins and updates provided by Agencies / Investors (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and various investors) to the AVP of Credit Policy for review and publication
- Compile information detailing the specifics of information clarified or communicated by each Agency/Investor
- Ensure related documentation for all credit policy changes is gathered and adheres to the audit trail requirements of all source documentation and research
- Participate in drafting or recommending modifications to standard operating procedures, job aids, manuals, and other documentation based on clarified, vetted and/or updated information
- Complete testing as needed
- Support management in the development, improvement and administration of credit policies, procedures, and underwriting criteria
- Perform other Credit Policy related responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 10+ years residential mortgage underwriting and/or credit risk experience, with guideline knowledge (FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Non-Agency, Non QM)
- Loan quality audit experience
- Excellent prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Encompass LOS experience a plus
