Job Description
Customer Project Manager managing sensor-based food sorting and processing projects for TOMRA Food in Egypt. Coordinating costing, installation, vendors, budgets, schedules, commissioning, and customer handover.
Responsibilities:
- Manage TOMRA Food projects from quotation stage through commissioning, including on-site installation management
- Ensure end-to-end project quality and customer satisfaction
- Assist Sales with accurate project costing and identification of quotation-stage risks
- Develop equipment, process, and product expertise to support Sales and customers in selecting the correct application solution
- Communicate customer design standards and expectations to project design teams and ensure execution
- Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors
- Assist with equipment supplier negotiations
- Control project budgets and manage change orders
- Liaise with operations and logistics to maintain project schedules
- Ensure projects align with organisational goals and objectives
- Conduct regular customer visits using a hands-on project management approach
- Facilitate project handover to the Service Organisation after execution
- Set up, implement, and monitor a structured stage gate process
- Coordinate customers, internal stakeholders, engineers, and third parties from pre-sale interactions through final commissioning
- Document and investigate incidents
- Report and record hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement control measures
- Supervise and train employees and contractors regarding health and safety
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industry-related design or project role
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Experience in the food or machinery industry is advantageous, but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy
- Customer-focused mindset and commitment to excellent service
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven practical, solutions-oriented problem-solving capability
- High adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment
- Understanding of health and safety management responsibilities and relevant legal obligations
- Ability to document and investigate incidents, report hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement control measures
