Job Description
Data Collection Technician conducting utility distribution equipment inspections for Qualus. Collecting GPS-based field data, photographs, and assessments across the Miami-Dade service territory.
Responsibilities:
- Complete detailed assessments accurately according to field conditions
- Record data using correct standards so analysis is clear and easily understood by office-based project personnel
- Communicate with the team to ensure consistency and accuracy in data collection procedures
- Use smartphones and/or tablets to collect and document relevant data
- Use GPS software and/or geospatial coordinates to navigate assigned territory and client sites
- Identify items to be documented in the field with minimal supervisory assistance
- Meet production targets and understand project deliverables and milestones
- Follow safety protocols and participate in safety initiatives
- Assist in power restoration efforts during natural disaster events
- Travel overnight periodically as required
- Conduct daily travel and utility distribution equipment field inspections
- Perform visual analyses, capture photographs, and enter data into mobile devices for distribution field data collection projects
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform visual assessments effectively
- Proficiency in using smartphones and tablets for data entry and communication
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Willingness to travel extensively to various work sites within the client's service territory, sometimes with little notice
- Willingness to adapt to new site inspections and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions and terrain
- Willingness to travel overnight periodically
- Valid driver's license and ability to provide a clean driving record
- Strong navigational skills and ability to read maps
- Proficiency in basic computer software and Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Clean and professional appearance during client interactions
- Proper time management skills
- Meet company standards for pre-employment background checks and drug screening
- Highest standards of ethics and integrity
- Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain for extended periods
- Frequent travel required, up to 100%, to utility sites, customer locations, and project areas
- Ability to walk long distances, climb stairs, navigate uneven ground, and access active construction or utility work sites
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials up to 25–50 pounds
- Ability to safely perform duties while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
