Job Description
Director of FP&A responsible for financial planning, reporting, and management reporting for EDB. Leading the annual operating plan and enhancing financial models for strategy support.
Responsibilities:
- Own the annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly reforecasting, and long-range financial planning processes end-to-end.
- Develop and maintain the corporate financial model, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet projections.
- Lead monthly business reviews — synthesizing actuals vs. budget with clear variance analysis and forward-looking commentary.
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to build financial scenarios in support of strategic decisions, M&A activity, and capital allocation.
- Design, own, and continuously improve the suite of internal financial reports used by leadership, the board, and investors.
- Build a reporting cadence that gives business leaders the information they need.
- Ensure consistency and integrity across all financial reporting — from board decks to departmental scorecards.
- Own the narrative: translate financial results into business insight, not just numbers.
- Serve as the dedicated finance partner to G&A functions including HR, Legal, IT, and Finance.
- Build trusted relationships with G&A leaders to drive accountability against budgets and support investment prioritization.
- Lead G&A budget submissions during the AOP and forecasting cycles.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to G&A leadership in support of vendor decisions, headcount requests, and organizational changes.
- Own the FP&A tech stack — including planning tools (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, or equivalent), BI platforms, and data integrations with ERP/HRIS.
- Drive automation of recurring reporting and forecasting workflows to reduce manual effort and improve speed to insight.
- Partner with Accounting, IT, and Data Analytics to ensure clean, reliable data pipelines that support financial planning and reporting.
- Build and maintain scalable models and templates that can support the business as it grows.
- Evaluate and lead implementation of new FP&A tooling where appropriate.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Demonstrated experience owning a full AOP cycle and monthly/quarterly close reporting.
- Strong financial modeling skills — you build models that other people can use and maintain.
- Experience as a finance business partner to G&A or corporate functions.
- Hands-on experience with FP&A platforms (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Pigment, or similar) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Proven ability to automate and streamline financial processes — you hate doing the same manual task twice.
- Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and visual; comfortable presenting to C-suite and board audiences.
- High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Benefits:
- EDB is committed to supporting our employees' overall well being by offering a range of benefits and resources to promote a healthy work-life balance and wellness.
- Access to CuraLinc to aid employees in health and wellness tips and practices.
- Wellness Fridays extending to December 2026!
