Job Description
Director of Internal Communications shaping CEO messaging and crisis communications for Ascension’s nonprofit Catholic healthcare system. Leading strategy, operations, and a high-performing communications team.
Responsibilities:
- Craft a forward-looking editorial calendar and author high-impact content, including town halls and video scripts, translating the CEO’s narrative across the organization
- Act as a core thought partner to executive leadership and forge a unified internal narrative connecting organizational priorities to daily associate work
- Design agile workflows and communications infrastructure
- Directly lead, coach and empower a high-performing team to deliver quality at scale
- Spearhead real-time, high-stakes crisis response for local and national urgent events
- Partner across internal teams, subject matter experts and external PR to maintain aligned messaging and talking points
Requirements:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management
- Solid experience in internal or executive communications, with meaningful experience supporting C-suite
- Experience in healthcare or large, complex organizations
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field strongly preferred
