Job Description
Director leading product, delivery and platform operations for uMed’s clinical research technology network. Driving application roadmap execution, UAT, releases and multidisciplinary team development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful execution of uMed's application product roadmap.
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the Application Product, Delivery and Product Operations functions.
- Translate strategic priorities into achievable delivery plans and execute them predictably and efficiently.
- Lead product planning, delivery planning, release readiness and UAT.
- Work with Engineering, QA and Data to manage dependencies and deliver roadmap priorities.
- Lead day-to-day application roadmap execution and maintain planning, refinement, sprint and release cadences.
- Monitor progress, remove blockers, manage risks and coordinate cross-functional dependencies.
- Ensure releases are planned, tested, communicated and operationally ready.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, team effectiveness and ways of working.
- Coach and support the product team and act as an escalation point for product and delivery decisions.
- Ensure usability, accessibility and consistency throughout the development lifecycle.
- Lead Platform Operations, including configuration, controls, documentation and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate release notes, user guidance and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and automate repeatable operational processes.
- Directly manage the Application Product Manager, Product Designer, Scrum Master and Platform Operations Specialist.
- Set objectives and expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and support recruitment, onboarding and capability development.
Requirements:
- Experience working within healthcare, life sciences or another regulated industry
- Significant experience leading Product, Delivery or Program functions within a software, SaaS or technology organization
- Proven track record delivering complex software products from concept through release
- Strong practical experience in product management, including requirements definition, backlog management, prioritization, story writing, refinement and UAT
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams including Product Managers, Product Designers, Delivery professionals and Platform Operations
- Excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills
- Strong understanding of Agile software development and modern product delivery practices
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, competing priorities and cross-functional dependencies
- Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on leader within a scaling organization
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused and able to balance strategic objectives with operational execution
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is desirable
