Job Description
Product marketing director leading go-to-market strategy for Really Great Reading’s literacy products. Driving launches, positioning, sales enablement, and customer adoption across schools and districts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead go-to-market planning for new products and major releases, aligning Product, Sales, Partnerships, and Customer Success on timing, readiness, and success measures
- Own positioning and messaging across the product portfolio and ensure consistency across campaigns, sales materials, and customer communications
- Partner with Product and Finance on pricing and packaging decisions
- Define evidence and customer stories to support product positioning with Research and Curriculum
- Build and lead the sales enablement program, including playbooks, battlecards, launch training, and an enablement calendar
- Partner with Sales and field teams to understand buyer needs and improve product positioning
- Measure adoption and effectiveness of enablement resources and adjust based on feedback and performance
- Lead competitive intelligence and win/loss practices
- Maintain a voice-of-customer practice with Customer Success
- Use AI-assisted research and analysis for market and competitive insights
- Lead and develop the Product Marketing Manager
- Partner with Content, Marketing Operations, Design, and other cross-functional teams
- Measure contributions of launches and product marketing initiatives to pipeline, adoption, retention, and expansion
- Continuously improve go-to-market strategy using performance results, customer insight, and field feedback
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of product marketing experience, including at least 3 years leading product launches or go-to-market programs
- Experience leading at least one major product launch end to end, from positioning through sales readiness and post-launch measurement
- Experience building a sales enablement program that achieved meaningful adoption, with a clear approach to measuring its impact
- Experience shaping pricing and packaging decisions
- Strong positioning, messaging, and writing skills for both buyers and sales teams
- Experience managing and developing at least one product marketer
- Experience working directly with Sales and field teams, including participating in customer calls and leading training
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for research, competitive analysis, or content development, with sound judgment around accuracy and appropriate use
- B2B experience with long, multi-stakeholder buying cycles
- K–12 education or EdTech experience, particularly selling to school districts
- Familiarity with the Science of Reading or literacy instruction
- Experience leading win/loss or voice-of-customer programs
- Experience developing customer marketing strategies that support retention and expansion
- Experience partnering with research or efficacy teams on evidence-based product claims
- Ability to work at a screen for extended periods, use standard input devices, and participate in virtual meetings
