Job Description

Engineering Director leading capital equipment & process standards at Ball Corporation. Establishing best practices and managing global manufacturing technology in a sustainable environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish industry-leading practices across Ball’s manufacturing facilities.
  • Create and deploy standards for the operation of can making equipment, the parts and materials used in can making,
  • Directly oversee design, installation, startup and utilization of can lines.
  • Manage global subject matter experts creating and deploying process documentation for all can-making technology, direct materials.
  • Collaborate with Capital Procurement and key suppliers to review standard equipment specifications and enforce OEM change control.
  • Oversee trials and workflows assessing operational readiness of process innovations; coordinate with suppliers, operations, and Ball Operational Excellence organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering leadership, particularly in establishing best practices for industrial processes
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing technology in a global manufacturing environment (preferrably in beverage can manufacturing)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience generating business cases/ROI, performing technology selection and vendor management
  • Working knowledge of: purchasing, legal contracts, licenses, accounting, economics, depreciation, capitalization, accruals, ISO, auditing (internal and external), insurance, and contract negotiations
