Job Description
Engineering Manager growing engineers and engineering practices for Parachute Health’s AI-powered medical equipment ordering platform. Leading document ingestion, data extraction, delivery, and technical oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor up to 5 engineers, prioritizing career growth, technical development, and day-to-day support.
- Take accountability for team goals and roadmap execution.
- Identify and remove blockers to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Review Architecture Decision Documents (ADDs) and conduct pre-launch risk assessments.
- Ensure systems align with company goals.
- Lead early technical discovery, feasibility analysis, and capacity estimation for future projects.
- Participate in regular PR reviews, design discussions, and incident retrospectives.
- Allocate 10–20% of time to technical work, prioritizing pairing and targeted tickets over daily feature development.
- Guide engineering practices across teams using agile methods, TDD, and robust software design principles.
- Represent the team and act as its primary point of contact with Product, Design, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
- Contribute code and coding practices while growing engineers and the engineering practice.
Requirements:
- Professional programming experience with open source languages
- Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering software in a production environment
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience
- Must reside in the U.S.
- Professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Professional experience with React or TypeScript
- Experience with automated evaluation and testing of LLM powered workflows
- Experience with LangSmith or similar tools for observability and evaluation
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and prompt lifecycle management
- Familiarity with LangGraph, AutoGen, or other agent orchestration frameworks
- Skill with AI powered coding tools (eg. Cursor)
- Experience working cross-functionally to improve business process
- Experience as technical lead on projects working with UX/UI design and/or product management.
