Job Description
Engineering Manager leading IAM teams for JumpCloud’s AI-powered unified IT management platform. Scaling authentication services, cloud architectures, and secure identity features.
Responsibilities:
- Manage 1–2 teams with ownership of product features, frameworks, staffing, budgets, and timely delivery
- Safely deliver modern identity features through secure-by-default practices, strict testing, and progressive rollouts
- Plan systems and negotiate complex downstream dependencies involving networks, databases, and devices
- Steer architectural roadmaps toward scalable, cloud-native frameworks
- Drive scalability initiatives for queue spikes, databases at scale, and data-residency requirements
- Evolve LDAP/RADIUS directory protocols into scalable, self-healing cloud architectures
- Provide technical coaching, career growth support, and psychological safety
- Resolve priority conflicts and remove blockers
- Establish rigorous release protocols and operational oversight
- Build stakeholder relationships and execute tactical change management
- Direct authentication services using operational metrics and transparent cross-functional communication
- Integrate automated AI workflows for routine tasks
- Champion Spec-Driven Development using Cursor/Copilot while maintaining test coverage and code quality
- Articulate team contributions within wider departmental goals
- Ensure 24/7 health of services
Requirements:
- 12+ years of software engineering experience
- 8+ years as an Individual Contributor, scaling to Staff Engineer or Tech Lead
- 4+ years in direct Engineering Management
- Domain expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM), authentication protocols, and related platform architecture
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound technical judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments
- University Degree or equivalent experience (preferred qualification)
- Must be located in and authorized to work in India
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Ability and readiness to participate in assigned on-call shifts
