Job Description

Engineering Manager leading a product engineering team to deliver quality software solutions at Clutch, enhancing client onboarding experiences with a focus on AI tools.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll lead a small product engineering team (usually 5 to 6 engineers) and own delivery from idea to launch to reliability.
  • You’ll keep the bar high for quality, speed, and customer impact.
  • This is a hands-on Engineering Manager role. You’ll start by learning the product and codebase, shipping small features, and then ramp into full-time team leadership.
  • You’ll focus on building durable systems and habits: clear ownership, clean interfaces, strong quality, and steady improvements to how the team ships and operates.
  • Within 3 months, you will learn the product deeply, ship a set of small, scoped features, map the current SDLC, and propose one AI-assisted workflow improvement.
  • Within 6 months, you will run the team’s planning and execution rhythm, expand AI adoption, and coach engineers through feedback and support.
  • Within 9 months, you will own outcomes for your area, build a durable team system, deliver larger projects end-to-end, and make continuous improvement a team habit.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on engineering leadership: 10+ years working as a Software Engineer, including at least 4 years in an Engineering Manager role.
  • Strong execution: you can turn fuzzy goals into a plan, keep scope under control, and ship reliably with a small team.
  • AI workflow builder mindset: experience creating or adapting AI tools into real engineering workflows (not only using ChatGPT). Examples: codebase-aware assistants, PR review automation, test generation.
  • Practical SDLC improvement: you’ve improved how teams build and release with measurable results (cycle time, quality, on-call load, deploy frequency).
  • Technical depth: you can read and write production code, guide design choices, and make good calls on quality and reliability.
  • People leadership: coaching, feedback, hiring support, and creating a healthy team environment with clear expectations.
  • Clear communication: crisp writing, good meeting hygiene, and strong coordination with product and other partners.

Benefits:

  • Remote Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of remote work from anywhere, balancing life and career seamlessly.
  • Unforgettable Off-Sites: Twice a year, bond with colleagues in exciting destinations, fostering teamwork and fresh ideas.
  • Paid Time Off and National Holidays: Enjoy 20 PTO days yearly and the National Holidays for relaxation and rejuvenation.
  • Stock Options: Joining us means having a stake in our success, so you'll receive stock options as part of your compensation package.
  • Home Office Setup: Create your ideal workspace with a dedicated budget for home office essentials.
  • Work Trip Budget: Grow personally and professionally with a budget for work-related trips and co-working.
