Job Description
Engineering Manager optimizing global e-commerce delivery engine at Portless. Leading a distributed engineering team and driving execution metrics across time zones.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Global Engineering Delivery by executing across a distributed team
- Balance Planned vs. Reactive Work by establishing clean frameworks
- Own Incident Management & On-Call
- Architect Asynchronous Workflows to minimize real-time meetings
- Own Delivery Metrics (DORA)
- Champion AI-Augmented Engineering by optimizing team usage of AI tools
- Global People Management & Team Health
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience directly managing a team of ~10 software engineers
- Active user of modern AI development tools
- Proven experience building triage systems for ad-hoc bugs
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Practical experience utilizing DORA metrics or similar frameworks
- Ability to cultivate psychological safety and prevent burnout
- Strong engineering background
- Ability to navigate code reviews
- Domain Expertise in Supply Chain, Logistics, or E-commerce verticals (bonus)
