Job Description

Epic Applications Analyst maintaining and enhancing Valley Health’s healthcare EHR systems. Managing system support, upgrades, testing, projects, and end-user solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain Epic systems and databases for optimum performance
  • Manage complex Information System projects and products using Epic solutions to meet business needs
  • Maintain Epic applications and facilitate updates, new releases, and system enhancements
  • Conduct or participate in technical and application reviews to assess feasibility, cost, and usefulness
  • Evaluate service requests, participate in vendor demos, site visits, and reference calls
  • Investigate systems, define automation requirements and objectives, and assess alternative solutions
  • Troubleshoot application problems and support end users to optimize user experience
  • Respond to system issues and requests according to SLA goals, standards, and policies
  • Analyze complex processes through collaboration, research, workflow analysis, and data extraction
  • Support project planning, problem resolution, change control, and quality assurance
  • Participate in review and testing of new enterprise applications and updates
  • Prioritize and implement requested changes to enterprise applications
  • Analyze new functionality and determine implementation schedules
  • Assist with recruitment, development, training, and mentoring of employees
  • Communicate project and team status to internal and external customers
  • Escalate issues and communicate status to leadership
  • Participate in meetings, huddles, and work groups; prepare minutes, correspondence, and status reports
  • Support new-version releases and change-control processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or an Information Technology-related field, or four years of equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an IT or healthcare role
  • At least one Epic certification or accreditation required
  • Epic certification or accreditation in primary module(s), or as specified by the applications, required within six months of hire
  • Current Epic certifications or accreditations must be maintained according to Epic Corporation standards
  • Epic end-user experience preferred
  • Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issue lists, and follow a project plan
  • Competence in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication and follow-up skills
  • Technical knowledge of coordinating, configuring, and building healthcare IT to drive quality improvement, meaningful use, and safety goals
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for health system EHRs
  • Ability to lead and mentor application teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on content build, projects, and upgrades
  • Experience in change management required
  • Experience in intra-system design highly preferred
  • On-call availability required
