Job Description

Epic Systems Analyst configuring, testing, and supporting healthcare applications for OhioHealth. Supporting clinical workflows, integrations, reporting, and role-based training from Ohio.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, build, testing, training, deployment, and ongoing support of Epic applications
  • Develop knowledge of healthcare workflows, system integration, and project delivery practices
  • Partner with operational leaders and end users to translate business requirements into Epic configuration, integrations, and reporting
  • Work under guidance of senior analysts, architects, and technical leads
  • Gather and refine stakeholder requirements and map current-state workflows
  • Design Epic builds aligned with operational goals and policy
  • Create and maintain specifications, decision logs, design documents, configuration documentation, workflow documentation, and support procedures
  • Conduct gap analyses for upgrades, regulatory changes, and new initiatives
  • Support small projects and enhancements for system implementations and upgrades
  • Participate on project teams and deliver assigned tasks using established methodologies
  • Configure Epic records, master files, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows
  • Develop and execute unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; resolve defects and document test evidence
  • Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage
  • Coordinate release management, environment moves, and downtime procedures
  • Provide go-live and post-live hypercare, rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and at-the-elbow support
  • Manage service requests and incidents, meeting SLAs through triage, documentation, and root-cause analysis
  • Collaborate with interface teams on HL7, FHIR, PDFs, CCD/CCDA, and other exchange workflows
  • Partner with analytics teams on Clarity/Caboodle extracts, registries, and operational reporting
  • Support regulatory readiness, audits, policy alignment, privacy/security controls, and audit trails
  • Contribute to ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and configuration management
  • Support design and delivery of role-based training
  • Maintain and update the CareConnect curriculum
  • Incorporate learner and stakeholder feedback into curriculum improvements
  • Support training environment build, maintenance, and readiness activities
  • Communicate system releases and upgrade impacts to training stakeholders
  • Manage end-user training requests and incidents, documenting resolutions and recommending preventative improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in system/application analysis, support, or related IT experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in system/application analysis, support, or related IT experience; healthcare environment preferred
  • Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows
  • Strong requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing skills
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile project methodologies
  • Ability to communicate with clinical and operational stakeholders and managed service providers
  • Ability to produce clear documentation
  • Ability to support small to medium initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • For Application Training: Epic Training Environment Build certification/proficiency, or ability to obtain within required timeframe
  • For Application Training: 1+ year of training environment build or application support experience
  • Epic Principal Trainer certification preferred, or ability to obtain within required timeframe
  • For Application Build: current Epic certification or proficiency in one or more relevant modules preferred
  • For Application Build: 1+ year of Epic build/configuration experience preferred, or demonstrated ability to learn and apply build standards quickly
  • Exposure to HL7, FHIR, interface testing, reporting, and data concepts preferred
  • ITIL Foundation certification desired, not required
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools
