Job Description

Escalator Engineer maintaining and repairing escalators and moving walkways across Scotland’s major transport hubs. Supporting safe, reliable operation for Stannah, a family-owned engineering manufacturer.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair and attend callouts for escalators and moving walkways from various manufacturers
  • Service, maintain and repair escalators and moving walkways across major rail and underground sites
  • Work on KONE TM, RTV and RTK units, Schindler 9300 escalators, Anlev systems, and Otis 506 NCE equipment
  • Perform fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of escalator systems across the Scotland Central Belt patch
  • Deliver high standards of service, safety and customer care
  • Conduct effective risk assessments
  • Maintain site log cards during every visit
  • Use a mobile communications unit to log calls and access customer and equipment information
  • Work in high-profile, safety-critical transport infrastructure environments

Requirements:

  • Qualified to a minimum of NVQ 3 with great technical expertise
  • Proven experience maintaining and performing minor repairs on a range of electrical, mechanical or electronic equipment in the customer’s environment
  • Computer or PDA experience is essential
  • Ability to use a mobile communications unit to log calls and access customer and equipment information
  • Comprehensive escalator engineering background, including NVQ 3 in Escalator Engineering or equivalent
  • Appropriate right to work must be held
  • Sponsorship is not available
