Job Description

Field Application Engineer installing, troubleshooting, and training customers on Cepheid GeneXpert molecular diagnostic systems. Covering South Iberia through remote, field-based customer support and travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver mainly post-sale support to customers
  • Oversee installation, adoption, and optimization of Cepheid GeneXpert systems within clinical laboratories across the region
  • Partner with regional customers to maximize system uptime, drive adoption, and enhance the commercial value of GeneXpert systems and assays
  • Conduct pre-installation site assessments
  • Install instruments and configure software and connectivity
  • Provide ongoing customer support during evaluation stages, after product launch, and during assay conversion
  • Deliver assay training and implement hardware, software, and connectivity updates
  • Monitor sites and train customers on system operation, software, reagents, and connectivity
  • Perform reactive repairs, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, deinstallations, and relocations
  • Resolve customer issues and coordinate with other functions on administrative and technical matters
  • Manage spare parts, including car stock levels and inventory

Requirements:

  • Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and Biology
  • Bachelor’s Degree with experience in Diagnostic industry an advantage
  • 2-3 years’ experience in health care / biomedical / handling Medical Devices or experience working with laboratory customers in the region
  • Knowledge of diagnostic market
  • Fluent in the local language of the region
  • Strong command of English
  • Knowledge of Portuguese is considered an advantage
  • Ability to travel and spend around 80% on the field
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 27 kg
  • Technical support and training experience in reagent and instrumentation for Clinical Diagnostics is a plus
  • Experience with customer base within territory is a plus
