Job Description
Field Service Engineer at Agilent supporting on-site installation and maintenance of Spectroscopy systems. Requires hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and travel up to 50%.
Responsibilities:
- Support customers through on-site installation, implementation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Spectroscopy systems
- Install, configure, and optimize Agilent Spectroscopy hardware, software, and networked systems at customer sites
- Diagnose and resolve product performance and availability issues at the system and solution level
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and system optimizations
- Proactively identify potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned downtime
- Advise customers on preventive maintenance schedules and configuration best practices
- Deliver fully integrated solutions, including peripherals, operating systems, and application software
- Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and high-quality service delivery
- Train customers and, as needed, other field engineers on Agilent Spectroscopy solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent university-level degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 4+ years of hands-on experience working with analytical instrumentation, including maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting Agilent Spectroscopy systems
- Highly preferred: hands-on experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and/or UV-Vis spectroscopy
- Strong problem-solving skills with a systems-focused approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to travel 50% or more, based on the territory at the time
- Valid driver’s license required
