Job Description
Field Service Technician for Coperion specializing in industrial ovens. Involves installation, troubleshooting, and customer training across North America.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical ambassador for Coperion, supporting customers across North America and globally.
- Lead or support the setup and start-up of industrial ovens and related extrusion systems, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to engineering specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in the field.
- Provide hands-on and classroom-style training to customer personnel on equipment operation, safety, and maintenance best practices.
- Document service activities, complete detailed trip reports, and submit field data to internal teams for analysis and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams to relay field insights and contribute to continuous product improvement.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in industrial electricity, electronic engineering technology, or equivalent technical training.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial ovens, preferably in field service or capital equipment assembly.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including ability to read schematics and interpret engineering documentation.
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic instruments (e.g., multimeters).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must reside within one hour of a major airport.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, often on short notice, with flexibility to travel up to 70% of the time.
