Job Description
Financial Accountant managing all finance, accounting, and tax-related activities for EMEA entities. Proactively identifies and addresses issues while recommending improvements for efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare journals and maintain GL accounts to ensure information is captured accurately.
- Complete accruals, reconciliations and monthly processing including allocations.
- Prepare monthly expense reports for Department Heads.
- Reconcile required balance sheet accounts and submit them into Blackline.
- Review inter-company accounts to include the acceptance and creation of AGIS and clearing of inter-company balances.
- Provide US with required schedules, in the requisite format supporting the monthly reported results.
- Manage the company's cash position and review monthly cash forecasts for various entities.
- Monitor and update cash flow requirements, as needed.
- Review daily bank statements for the company and update balances for US treasury team.
- Coordinate the submission and processing of invoices and payments with the AP team.
- Review and approve payroll calculations prior to payment in accordance with the current agreements and legislation.
- Complete/Coordinate all the statutory returns.
- Ensure capital expenditure records and monthly schedules are updated.
- Ensure depreciation calculation is correct.
- Assist in timely filing of all tax returns.
- Use AVIAT nominated tax consultants to support calculation and payment of required taxes.
- Ensure the CIT, VAT, WHT calculation, charging and reporting are correct.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Qualification in accountancy and/or demonstrated competence in equivalent role.
- Professional Accounting qualification - CIMA, ACCA or CPA preferred.
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards in the EMEA jurisdictions.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of VAT, corporate income tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to work independently.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration across departments and regions.
