Job Description
Financial Clearance Associate verifying insurance, benefits, authorizations, and patient liability estimates for Piedmont Healthcare. Supporting complex hospital services before patient arrival.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as frontline support for the Patient Connection Center within Piedmont Healthcare
- Review accounts for complex hospital services and specialized procedures, including surgeries, to ensure completeness before patient arrival
- Verify patient insurance and confirm benefits
- Determine authorization requirements
- Initiate and obtain pre-certification or authorization
- Create estimates to determine pre-service patient liability
Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- 2 years of experience in Revenue Cycle or related clerical accounting/finance experience, including 1 year specifically within Healthcare Revenue Cycle required
- 4 years of related healthcare Revenue Cycle experience preferred
- Prior Epic experience preferred
- Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association preferred
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred
- No licenses or certifications required
