Job Description
Founding Head of Engineering at Talent.com leading the development of AI-native products. Taking ownership of codebase, hiring engineers, and building the engineering culture.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the product's codebase, architecture, and roadmap
- Lead engineering for our AI-native product
- Build and integrate AI capabilities into the product
- Ship fast and take features from rough idea to users
- Make foundational technical decisions
- Build the eval and observability layer
- Sit in customer calls weekly
- Recruit, interview, and hire the engineering team
- Set and protect the engineering culture
- Mentor and lead future hires
Requirements:
- Led engineering teams at real scale
- Founding or first-few engineer at a venture-backed AI startup
- Shipped agentic LLM systems to paying enterprise customers
- Made the "rewrite vs. keep" call on someone else's in-flight codebase
- Hired and mentored engineers
- Clear on what makes a strong early-stage technical bar
- Set an engineering culture on purpose
- Cleared a regulated procurement gate in production
- Full-stack capable
