Job Description

Full-stack developer expanding Magellan AI’s podcast advertising intelligence and measurement platform. Building Rails features, AI-facing APIs, and data workflows with supervised coding agents.

Responsibilities:

  • Add new features to the Ruby on Rails application across the full stack
  • Work with operations and sales to design professional, practical solutions
  • Direct AI coding agents by framing problems, specifying constraints, reviewing output, and owning results
  • Improve system and code quality through TDD and refactoring
  • Write specs, architecture decision records, and product documentation
  • Extend internal tooling, including skills, subagents, and CLI helpers
  • Build AI-facing product surfaces such as the Ad Intelligence MCP server, including authentication, policy gates, and audit logging
  • Enhance existing feature usability with Turbo, Stimulus, and other front-end improvements
  • Troubleshoot and fix performance issues and complicated logic across Postgres and ClickHouse
  • Simplify the system through sound design decisions
  • Experiment with stopgap solutions, scripting, SQL exports, and web scraping
  • Provide operational support and address bugs during normal business hours
  • Participate in internal hackathons
  • Collaborate through Agile development, collective code ownership, regular deployments, and retrospectives

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Expertise with Agile web development, including practices such as TDD and refactoring
  • Fluency working with AI coding agents day to day, or obvious appetite for it
  • Ability to review AI agent output rather than trusting it
  • Clear writing for specifications, ADRs, and documentation read by non-engineers
  • Nice to have: Ruby on Rails
  • Nice to have: ClickHouse
  • Nice to have: Python
  • Nice to have: NYC-based
  • Nice to have: Experience designing MCP servers or other LLM-facing APIs
  • Nice to have: Background in ad tech
  • Nice to have: Interest in the podcasting world
