Job Description
Consultant supporting VHA’s mission to implement healthcare transformation initiatives. Collaborating across VHA program offices to deliver integrated solutions and manage healthcare priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership and VHA stakeholders, providing practical, mission-focused support
- Plan, manage, and execute enterprise-level healthcare transformation initiatives from concept through implementation
- Lead and contribute to multiple concurrent projects, rapidly establishing structure, scope, and execution plans
- Coordinate across VHA program offices, field operations, and external partners to align goals, manage dependencies, and drive decisions
- Apply program management, industrial engineering, and healthcare systems engineering principles to design safe, comprehensive, and efficient solutions
- Deliver enterprise program and project management services, often driven by legislation, policy changes, and executive direction
- Identify and manage risks, resource constraints, and budget considerations across competing priorities
- Produce high-quality, executive-ready deliverables that inform decisions and advance mission outcomes
- Adapt quickly as priorities shift, providing concierge-level support to leadership and program teams
Requirements:
- 3 to 8 years of experience in management consulting, healthcare transformation, or federal health programs
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- Preferred certifications include PMP, Prosci, Lean, and Human-Centered Design, or similar
- MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) at an advanced level
- Demonstrated experience supporting Veterans Health Administration or federal healthcare initiatives strongly preferred
- Strong program and project management capability with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder efforts
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort engaging senior government leaders
- Highly organized, systematic, and proactive with strong follow-through
- A roll up your sleeves doer who delivers without needing constant direction
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service acumen
- Trusted executive-level advisory expertise.
- Coordinate across VHA program offices, field operations, and executive leadership
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment and consensus building
- Produce high-quality briefings, decision papers, and presentations for senior leaders
