Job Description

Graphic Designer creating packaging, game components, and production artwork for Goliath, an international toy and game manufacturer. Collaborating across teams from concept through final production.

Responsibilities:

  • Design artwork for game packaging, game boards, cards, components, instruction manuals, retail displays, and supporting materials
  • Develop creative concepts based on game themes, target audiences, and brand direction
  • Create layouts using typography, composition, color, and visual hierarchy
  • Create and modify packaging dielines using existing templates and custom specifications
  • Develop logos, icons, patterns, and other supporting graphics
  • Stay current on trends in board games, toys, packaging, entertainment, retail, and pop culture
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready artwork for manufacturing
  • Preflight, package, and organize artwork files for production
  • Verify imagery, product descriptions, logos, legal copy, component details, and other required elements before artwork release
  • Ensure artwork meets packaging dielines and manufacturing specifications
  • Maintain organized files and version control
  • Assist with photo editing and image preparation
  • Collaborate with the Art Director, Brand Management, Project Management, Product Development, and other cross-functional teams
  • Manage multiple projects while balancing changing priorities and deadlines
  • Incorporate creative and production feedback while maintaining design quality
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and timelines

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional graphic design and production experience in an agency, studio, or in-house creative environment
  • Experience designing for board games, tabletop games, toys, game packaging, or a closely related physical consumer product category
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong packaging and product-focused graphic design; board game or tabletop work is strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, color, and print production
  • Experience preparing production-ready files and prepress artwork
  • Consumer packaging and dieline experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working on a Mac platform
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Additional experience with game boards, cards, components, rulebooks, licensed brands, illustration, logo design, 3D rendering, large-format graphics, or photo editing is a plus
