Job Description

Head of Finance leading financial strategy, FP&A, capital planning, and fundraising at Uride, a Canadian ride-sharing platform. Overseeing financial operations and building financial systems for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, contributing to company-wide planning and decision-making
  • Define and execute Uride’s financial strategy to support growth, profitability, and operational scalability
  • Lead long-term financial planning and scenario modelling for new markets, pricing strategies, and product initiatives
  • Own end-to-end FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and unit economics
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Lead capital fundraising initiatives, including equity, debt, and strategic financing
  • Build and manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial partners
  • Prepare investor decks, board materials, and financial narratives to support fundraising and growth efforts
  • Oversee accounting, audit, tax, compliance, and risk management
  • Ensure strong financial controls, policies, and reporting standards
  • Implement and scale financial systems and processes aligned with company growth
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team
  • Partner closely with Product, Operations, People, and Technology teams to align financial strategy with execution

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in technology, marketplace, mobility, or high-growth startups
  • Prior experience as Head of Finance, VP Finance, CFO, or equivalent senior finance role
  • Deep expertise in FP&A, strategic finance, capital markets, and capital fundraising
  • Strong understanding of unit economics, financial modelling, and scaling operations
  • CPA or CMA certification required (CFA or MBA considered an asset)
  • Experience working with Boards, investors, and executive leadership teams
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
