Job Description

Mid-Level Instructional Designer modernizing adult-learning curricula for the National Institute of Corrections. Developing instructor-led, blended, microlearning, and e-learning products with corrections experts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modernize adult-learning products supporting the National Institute of Corrections
  • Work with corrections subject matter experts, technical writers, graphic designers, accessibility specialists, and project leadership
  • Conduct needs, task, performance, and audience analyses
  • Apply adult-learning theory and instructional design methodologies to course development
  • Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, blended, and e-learning solutions
  • Develop competency-based, technology-mediated curricula
  • Collaborate with corrections SMEs to research and validate technical content
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, effective adult-learning products
  • Resolve content issues throughout the development lifecycle
  • Incorporate accessibility and information-design principles
  • Support testing, evaluation, validation, revision, and publishing of learning products

Requirements:

  • Eligible for or active Secret security clearance
  • Demonstrated instructional systems design and adult-learning experience
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Experience applying instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM
  • Experience conducting needs, task, performance, and audience analyses
  • Experience developing competency-based instructor-led and e-learning curricula
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts
  • Knowledge of accessibility considerations in digital learning
  • Proficiency with ELB Gold Suite Studio/Lectora
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360 Suite
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience developing training for federal, state, local, corrections, law-enforcement, or public-safety clients
  • Preferred: Experience modernizing legacy e-learning courses and developing microlearning
  • Preferred: Experience supporting blended hard-skills training and virtual instructor-led training
  • HUBZone Residency preferred
