Job Description
Insurance Specialist resolving unpaid and denied hospital and physician claims for CorroHealth’s revenue-cycle solutions. Reviewing medical documentation and coordinating claim resolution through software, client systems, and insurer portals.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve unpaid and denied claims using proprietary software, phone calls, letters, client systems, and insurance carrier web portals
- Review UB04 claim forms, EOBs, medical records, and other medical documentation to determine claim-resolution actions
- Maintain familiarity with client preferences and known issues
- Meet monthly production and quality expectations
- Comply with HIPAA privacy laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours per day and handle interruptions and multiple deadlines
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of physician and/or hospital accounts receivable experience preferred
- Knowledge of UB04 claim forms, EOBs, and medical records preferred
- At least one year of Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other EMR experience preferred
- Experience with Profee and hospital-based claims
- EPIC experience is a plus
- Knowledge of basic computer functions
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, and calculating percentages
- Ability to analyze and interpret documents, contracts, notes, and other correspondence
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform computer-based work for 6–8 hours per day
- Infrequent ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
