Job Description

Regulatory Specialist leading environmental assessments and licensing applications for Ensero Solutions. Collaborating with teams to improve project environmental management and conduct technical reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead activities related to environmental assessments, licensing and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients with support from Senior technical SME’s.
  • Conducts summary reporting and technical reporting for internal and external (e.g. regulatory applications) requirements, and generally leads development of environmental assessment and regulatory applications.
  • Analyzes and interprets environmental data.
  • Works collaboratively with the Geoscience, Water Management, Engineering and Reclamation and Closure teams and proactively identifies opportunities to improve project environmental management and streamline regulatory processes.
  • Provides training and technical support development of junior staff.
  • Provides corporate technical support to Ensero projects with regard to environmental management, regulatory compliance, governance and permitting.
  • Interacts and liaises with assessors, regulators and clients.
  • Interface and communicate with various levels of government, stakeholders and communities to advance regulatory activities.
  • Keep abreast of existing and pending legislation and regulation changes which may impact Ensero projects or our client’s projects. Coordinate and disseminate regulatory information within the company.
  • Supports the writing and development of client proposals and explores business development opportunities in mining and other sectors.
  • Mentor and provide technical training to junior team members
  • All other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 4 - 6 years of previous experience working in environmental consulting or the A/E/C industry.
  • Previous experience with Yukon or BC’s impact assessment and licensing regime for resource development projects.
  • Previous experience in community and First Nations consulting considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members as well as lead independent projects
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
