Job Description

Lead Bookkeeper at Gauvreau overseeing bookkeeping for legal clients and mentoring staff in a remote capacity. Ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction while embodying core values.

Responsibilities:

  • Navigate full-service bookkeeping for external businesses with medium to high complexity
  • Review and sign off on bookkeeping files, including HSTs, T4s, ROEs, WSIB, year-end adjustments and trust accounting
  • Prepare and deliver client reporting as needed
  • Manage multiple client deliverables with precision and prioritization
  • Lead client onboarding meetings and ensure proper file setup
  • Maintain ongoing client correspondence to support file completion
  • Support Associate Bookkeepers with file reviews, training, and issue resolution
  • Organize and lead team huddles and meetings
  • Attend weekly strategy/accountability calls with the Workflow Manager

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years experience in law firm or legal environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of work quality and timelines
  • Proven confidence with trust accounting
  • Confidence in delivering high-quality work without supervision
  • Strong communication skills for client and team interactions
  • Sound problem-solving ability with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience with Karbon, Outlook, QBO, and other bookkeeping software
  • Experience with Clio and other legal software considered a strong asset
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
