Job Description
Legal Counsel - Contracts managing legal agreements at Pennylane as they scale their financial software. Focus on contract negotiation, drafting, and legal compliance in a growing FinTech environment.
Responsibilities:
- We are looking for our future Legal Counsel – Contracts to strengthen the contracts team within the Legal Department.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts with leading accounting players in France and across Europe.
- Automating the contracting lifecycle, notably using AI tools.
- Collaborating with other teams within the Legal Department, in particular the Compliance team.
- Keeping purchase order templates up to date with regulatory and Pennylane product changes, and updating standard terms and conditions for accounting firms.
Requirements:
- You are a qualified lawyer or legal counsel (e.g., SaaS, FinTech) with at least 3 years of experience in a law firm (IP/IT, tech, SaaS) or in a fast-growing company in a relevant sector.
- You have a solid understanding of legal issues related to SaaS contracts (data management, intellectual property, SLAs, etc.).
- You can navigate the complexity of B2B SaaS contracts and translate legal risks into pragmatic business solutions.
- You want to contribute to organizing the contract practice of a fast-growing company.
- You have an appetite for tech tools that automate low-value legal tasks.
- You have strong communication and drafting skills in French and English to lead contract negotiations.
- German would be an appreciated plus.
- You have business acumen and position yourself as a business partner within the company.
- You are pragmatic, rigorous, and enjoy solving problems with practical solutions.
