Job Description

Residence-based Air Products technician installing and repairing cryogenic and industrial gas systems. Serving customer sites across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia with daily field travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain cryogenic liquid and industrial and process gas supply and delivery systems.
  • Work with nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and helium systems, including pumping, high-pressure compression, and gas generation systems.
  • Service customer sites daily, generally within a 200-mile radius of home.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Air Products and customers.
  • Communicate between the field and Air Products Management, Sales, and Engineering.
  • Develop work scopes for equipment repair and overhaul.
  • Participate actively in department safety programs.
  • Promote safety rules, regulations, and environmental compliance.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Safety-focused.
  • Ability and desire to put safety first.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather, all year.
  • Ability to use hammers, drills, hammer drills, core drills, hand saws, power saws, wrenches, pliers, hand tools, brazing torches, and ladders.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose and repair complex problems.
  • Comfortable working on deenergized circuits up to 480V.
  • Able to trace and measure voltage/amperage on instrumentation circuits.
  • Knowledge of piping, regulators, valves, pumps, and compressors.
  • Self-starter and fast learner, with desire to learn, grow, and be challenged.
  • Comfortable working alone for long periods of time and working well with others.
  • Availability to be on call.
  • Overnight travel availability (25%-30%); daily travel required (100%).
  • Trade, technical degree, or apprenticeship in a related field preferred but not required.
  • Brazing experience preferred but not required.
  • Military or technical school experience in relevant fields would be well suited; technical school students with relevant backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
