Job Description
Travel Power Generator Technician maintaining and repairing Aggreko’s generators and related energy equipment across US projects. Installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing equipment with up to 75% travel.
Responsibilities:
- Work on a wide range of projects, including large events, Utilities customers, and refinery turnaround teams
- Install, commission, service, and repair Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or OFA systems
- Troubleshoot equipment failures on Major Projects and in service centers
- Calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements using mathematical formulas
- Read and comprehend electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
- Maintain knowledge of and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other required regulations
- Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures and design proactive failure notifications and compliance measures
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- 8+ years' experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Electrical Generating System Association technician or other certifications are a plus but not required
- Knowledge using multi-meters, amp meters, and hygrometers
- May be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
- Availability to work assigned schedules, travel to work locations, and be on standby outside regularly scheduled shifts
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods and walk over uneven terrain with functional balance
- Ability to move extremities and spine through a functional range of motion for safe work from ground/floor level to overhead level
- Good finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and functional grip strength
- Ability to safely meet physical demands and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, including lifting 60 lbs., pushing/pulling 80 lbs., carrying 60 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, and climbing while carrying 15 lbs.
