Job Description
Engineering Manager leading Affirm’s UK-remote full-stack team building consumer financial products. Owning international product delivery, team growth, technical strategy, and scalable systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a full-stack, Europe-based engineering team delivering Affirm’s direct-to-consumer products across international markets
- Own the full software lifecycle from strategy to production for the Affirm App and other Direct-to-Consumer products
- Set the technical roadmap and translate international growth objectives into executable engineering plans
- Hire, develop, and retain engineers at all levels while creating career growth paths
- Drive cross-functional alignment with product, design, data science, and business partners across time zones
- Establish standards for system reliability, performance, and scalability for products serving millions of consumers
- Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, AI-assisted productivity, and rigorous impact measurement
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years leading and growing engineering teams in a product-focused environment
- Demonstrated track record of shipping and scaling consumer-facing products, ideally direct-to-consumer or fintech
- Experience building high-performing distributed teams
- Strong experience developing engineers and creating clarity in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Ability to influence and align stakeholders across product, design, and business functions
- Experience with international or multi-market product development
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Clear and confident English communication, written and verbal
