Job Description
Managing Engineer leading C#/ASP.NET teams at Allstate, an insurance and protection company. Building enterprise applications while guiding architecture, delivery, and engineering development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and related technologies
- Contribute production-ready code and participate in feature development and system enhancements
- Review code and provide technical guidance to engineering team members
- Participate in iteration planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies
- Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Lead technical design discussions and architectural decision-making
- Ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions
- Establish and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery practices
- Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and lead root cause analysis activities
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Data teams to align solutions with enterprise standards
- Promote engineering best practices, test automation, code quality, and continuous improvement
- Monitor delivery commitments, operational metrics, and team performance
- Foster knowledge sharing, talent development, and technical growth across the team
Requirements:
- 5 years or more of experience developing enterprise applications using ASP.NET and C# (or equivalent)
- 1 year or more of experience leading or managing software engineers (or equivalent)
- Experience actively designing, developing, and supporting production software applications
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and complex T-SQL development
- Experience with front-end technologies such as Vue.js, React, or Angular
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design
- Experience with Git, automated testing, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation

- Desirable: Experience supporting Sales, Healthcare, Insurance, or Financial Services applications
- Desirable: Experience with Oracle databases and enterprise data repository integrations
- Desirable: Experience leading cloud-based application initiatives
- Desirable: Knowledge of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and modern software delivery practices
- Desirable: Experience driving application modernization and engineering transformation initiatives
- Desirable: Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing engineering teams
