Job Description
Medical Science Liaison advancing AbbVie’s immunology and dermatology medicines across Poland. Building scientific relationships, supporting clinical research, and delivering medical education.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop professional trusting relationships with external experts in assigned therapeutic areas and geography
- Conduct balanced, peer-to-peer scientific dialogue about AbbVie products across their lifecycle
- Engage in scientific exchange on relevant disease-state topics
- Deliver credible scientific presentations to external experts and healthcare professionals
- Facilitate collection and reporting of medical and scientific field intelligence, including competitor information, new developments, and educational activities
- Engage investigators in AbbVie clinical studies, including investigator identification, study initiation training, and scientific information support
- Liaise with healthcare professionals on unsolicited investigator-initiated study requests and facilitate related communications
- Respond to unsolicited requests for off-label information and provide scientific knowledge regarding AbbVie medicines
- Assist with named-patient or compassionate-use medicine access requests when requested and legally permitted
- Support research and educational initiatives at key academic centres
- Ensure activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, codes, policies, procedures, and best-practice standards
- Maintain current scientific expertise in AbbVie products, therapeutic areas, disease states, and competitive landscapes
- Develop and execute territory external-expert engagement plans with internal colleagues
- Collaborate with in-field teams to address scientific and medical needs
- Serve as a scientific resource to internal AbbVie functions, including Commercial partners, in compliance with policies
- Deliver scientific training for sales, marketing, and brand teams
- Attend scientific meetings and congresses and develop summaries of key data with internal colleagues
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in health sciences or clinical discipline required
- Doctorate level degree (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD)
- Candidates with an undergraduate degree and significant relevant experience may be considered
- Greater than or equal to 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry related experience or equivalent strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs preferred
- Experience in a Medical Science Liaison (or similar) role with proven success preferred
- Ability to interpret clinical data and clearly communicate key aspects of the data and impact to practice/patients
- Ability to quickly learn new subject areas and environments
- Experience developing and maintaining expert knowledge for the assigned therapeutic area and medical research in general
- Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills in the local language and English preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a matrix environment
- Robust understanding of the local healthcare environment
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to travel frequently within the stipulated geographical area and occasionally nationally/internationally
