Job Description

Medical Science Liaison advancing Amgen’s obesity clinical strategy across the UK. Engaging KOLs, supporting trials, and translating scientific insights into medical strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive medical and scientific excellence within the Obesity Therapeutic Area
  • Provide expert leadership supporting clinical development, scientific engagement, and medical strategy execution
  • Build trusted relationships with external experts and collaborate across functions
  • Support clinical trial start-up, site selection, enrollment, retention, execution, and close-out
  • Identify, map, and engage KOLs, investigators, clinical leaders, research centers, and other external stakeholders
  • Lead peer-to-peer scientific exchange with healthcare professionals, medical societies, and patient organizations
  • Gather and communicate actionable scientific insights
  • Provide scientific guidance and training to investigators, site staff, clinical teams, and colleagues
  • Help resolve medical and trial-related challenges
  • Partner with Clinical Operations, Medical, Access, regional teams, and other functions
  • Contribute scientific and clinical insights to local product and therapeutic-area strategy
  • Mentor colleagues and provide leadership in scientific engagement and execution
  • Travel frequently across the UK

Requirements:

  • Scientific degree with relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience
  • Strong clinical trial expertise, particularly in study start-up and recruitment
  • Knowledge of GCP and local regulations
  • Strong scientific acumen with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly
  • Proven ability to engage KOLs, investigators, and other stakeholders and lead impactful scientific discussions
  • Experience in metabolic diseases, particularly obesity and/or diabetes, preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, decision-making, and prioritization skills
  • Proactive and independent approach
