Job Description
Mobile heavy-equipment service technician diagnosing and repairing customer machinery for Vermeer Midwest, a family-owned equipment dealership. Serving the Sterling Heights area independently from a company-equipped service truck.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues on heavy equipment
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance
- Maintain accurate service records and reports
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Work independently and manage the schedule efficiently
- Maintain truck maintenance, cleanliness, and organization
- Serve as the go-to service expert for customers in the Sterling Heights area
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience repairing heavy-duty vehicles or equipment
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools
- Proficiency with acetylene and arc welding
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues on-site
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid Chauffeur’s license and medical card required
- CDL preferred
- Background in agricultural equipment is a plus
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and MVR check
- Availability for day shift, Monday to Friday, with overtime
