Job Description

Model-Based Systems Engineer supporting TSA transportation security requirements at JRAD. Developing CONOPS, ORD, and FRD artifacts using MBSE methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Transportation Security Administration's Security Capabilities, Requirements and Engineering organization
  • Provide expert engineering and analysis support for the development of requirements artifacts
  • Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Operational Requirements Documents (ORD), and Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
  • Support requirements development for current and future transportation security equipment
  • Promote and develop processes using Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools
  • Leverage MBSE tools to support requirements development
  • Address other TSA engineering needs as determined

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree required in mechanical, electrical, systems/software/computer engineering, or another related discipline
  • Minimum of five years of experience in related systems engineering and requirements development
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, MBSE, systems development methodology, and project management
  • Two years of experience with MagicDraw, Cameo, Rational Rose, DOORS, their extensions, or competing vendors' tools
  • Knowledge of the Development Life Cycle Framework for translating user requirements, mission needs, and gaps into functional and system-level requirements
  • Ability to pass DHS suitability screening or DHS financial responsibility standards
  • Have or be eligible to receive a DHS Secret security clearance
  • Experience with DHS or DoD acquisitions is preferred
  • Experience developing operational requirements and writing CONOPS, ORD, and FRD documents is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with the transportation security domain is preferred
