Job Description

Music production expert evaluating AI-generated music for Mercor’s leading AI-lab partners. Rating musical quality, labeling characteristics, and reviewing Urdu lyrics and vocals.

Responsibilities:

  • Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality
  • Label songs by genre, structure, instruments, vocals, and other musical characteristics
  • Review AI-generated lyrics and vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy
  • Complete the Bilingual Competency Interview in Urdu during onboarding
  • Evaluate generative music AI models in partnership with a leading AI lab
  • Work on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance

Requirements:

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Urdu
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
  • 2+ years of experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer
  • Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
  • Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition (nice to have)
  • Credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work (nice to have)
  • Broad familiarity with contemporary Urdu genres, sub-genres, and artists (nice to have)
  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
