Job Description
Remote Professional Tool Specialist selling and demonstrating Emerson’s RIDGID and Greenlee tools. Building contractor relationships, conducting training, and driving product adoption across Hudson Valley.
Responsibilities:
- Sell, promote, and demonstrate RIDGID and Greenlee tools and equipment
- Promote the complete product line to end users in electrical, mechanical, utility, plumbing, and industrial segments
- Develop relationships with customers across all levels of the customer chain
- Engage local union and non-union training centers and conduct apprenticeship and journeyman training
- Communicate and demonstrate the Faster-Safer-Easier value proposition
- Develop and execute plans to specify and standardize products with key end-user customers
- Report demonstrations, trainings, and opportunities using the 360 data capture application
- Submit presentations, expense reports, and other plans on time
- Work with Product Managers on leads from regional, national, and global construction and utility firms
- Place tools with customers at the local level and make cold calls to potential leads
- Support multiple territories and channels with PTS Leads
- Follow up on pre-qualified leads from sales managers, product managers, distributor sales, and customers
- Collaborate with RIDGID/Greenlee team members, end-user customers, and distribution partners
- Communicate leads, competitive threats, and market trends to the sales team
- Understand end-user needs and challenges and articulate appropriate solutions
- Report to the Regional Sales Manager
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience with tool applications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical, utility, or plumbing tools
- Excellent communication skills, including synthesizing large amounts of information into clear, concise summaries
- Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of achieving goals and sales targets
- Strong time and territory management skills
- Willingness and ability to travel 50%, including overnight stays
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and comply with company driving policies
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver industrial tools and product inventory for demonstrations and trade shows
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available
- Proficiency in MS Outlook preferred
- CRM application experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or other pipe trades preferred
- Experience with distribution channels preferred
- Sales experience preferred
