Job Description
Network Engineer I maintaining Astreya’s global IT managed-services network infrastructure. Installing, troubleshooting, and upgrading routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and CDN systems.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hosts and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN endpoints
- Perform network maintenance and upgrades, occasionally during evenings or weekends
- Troubleshoot network issues and outages
- Support global production and corporate network infrastructure, including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, and CDN infrastructure
- Assist with vendor switches on servers for hardware and software issues
- Assist with traffic and queries raised by ISPs and partners
- Support incidents such as input errors, CRC, and RMA issues
- Work directly with ISPs and vendors to resolve network issues
- Resolve routine issues in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 3 to 4 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, Active Directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines, and software applications
- Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
- Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to perform office-related tasks, including prolonged sitting or standing
- Ability to move from place to place within an office environment
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to communicate effectively
