Job Description
Peer Support Specialist using lived experience to connect North Carolina behavioral-health clients with services. Supporting recovery, independence, and community integration.
Responsibilities:
- Provide peer-based support using lived experience to build trust and support engagement in services
- Support outreach and engagement efforts to connect individuals to services and community resources
- Assist individuals in navigating services and accessing available supports
- Facilitate group activities, educational sessions, and community engagement opportunities
- Promote self-advocacy, independence, and active participation in services
- Connect individuals to resources and support participation in care transitions
- Promote recovery, independence, and successful community integration
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year lived experience with a behavioral health condition and/or substance use
- North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Must reside within Trillium’s Southern Region: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Hoke, Lee, Moore, New Hanover, Robeson, and Scotland counties
- Must be able to travel within catchment as required
- Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment
