Job Description
Producer creating Tamil short-form journalism for Brut India, an international digital media publisher. Developing culturally relevant social videos from story idea through final edit.
Responsibilities:
- Produce short-form videos for Brut India’s upcoming Tamil-language digital initiative across social platforms
- Identify and pitch story ideas relevant to Tamil audiences, including news, culture, lifestyle, internet trends, and people-led stories
- Write scripts in Tamil and adapt Brut India stories for Tamil audiences while retaining cultural context
- Research and fact-check stories to ensure accuracy and credibility
- Follow Tamil digital culture, creators, cinema, music, fashion, and internet conversations
- Collaborate with editorial and production teams from story idea through final video
- Use AI and other digital tools to make content production faster and more efficient
- Monitor digital trends and create relevant, engaging, and shareable content for Tamil audiences
Requirements:
- Fluent in Tamil and English
- Hindi would be a plus
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Good understanding of social media and short-form video content
- 1 to 5 years of experience
- Degree in journalism/communication will be an advantage
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro
- Strong team player
- Thrives on internet culture
- Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- Passion for visual storytelling in new formats
