Job Description

Product Manager leading strategy, pre-sales and delivery for NEC’s AI-powered DocDefender document-redaction platform. Supporting police and public safety organisations across the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product strategy and evolution for the DocDefender AI-powered automated document redaction platform
  • Report to the Head of Product Management of the NEC Evidence and Insights product pillar
  • Define, develop and deliver high-quality software products aligned with customer needs and business value
  • Define, maintain and communicate product strategy and roadmap
  • Develop product backlogs, requirements and commercially sound modular product offerings
  • Develop marketing strategies with the Public Safety marketing team
  • Collaborate with engineering to deliver software solutions
  • Prioritise features and enhancements based on value, risk and opportunity
  • Track delivery progress and support product launches and releases
  • Manage the product lifecycle and communicate it to the company and customers
  • Monitor technology developments, competitors, products and market trends
  • Lead pre-sales activities and engage customers to understand needs, challenges and behaviours
  • Gather and analyse feedback, usage data and market trends
  • Support user groups, customer workshops/masterclasses and early sales-opportunity engagement
  • Identify product enhancements and revenue-growth opportunities
  • Explore emerging technologies, including AI where relevant
  • Develop business cases using approaches such as Lean Canvas and present proposals to Product Boards
  • Build relationships across NEC Software Solutions and collaborate with Engineering, Sales and Pre-Sales, Customer Success and Marketing
  • Communicate product updates, priorities and performance and support sales with product expertise
  • Monitor product KPIs and contribute to monthly reporting on roadmap progress, customer engagement, product health and risks
  • Maintain accurate product documentation and collateral
  • Travel to NEC offices in Chippenham, London and Hemel Hempstead and customer sites when required

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a business or technical discipline
  • Proven track record in Product Management in technology industries
  • Desirable: track record of working in the Public Safety sector with proven ability to deliver technical solutions
  • Ability to hold an audience with customers, technical people, partners and colleagues fully engaged and excited in furthering the product strategy and delivery
  • World class product insight
  • Commercially savvy, including ability to conduct accurate return on investment calculations
  • Excellent research skills covering competitors, markets, customers and requirements
  • Ability to make tough decisions in the best interests of the product, market, customer and company
  • Applicants must have lived in the UK for 5 consecutive years or more due to security clearance requirements
  • Candidates must demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK
  • Satisfactory vetting, references and occupational health checks required
  • Depending on the role, a DBS check may be required
  • Must currently have SC-level national security vetting or higher, NPPV Level 3, or be able to gain Enhanced Security Clearance
  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard required
